This leading boutique firm specializing in litigation and bringing together lawyers with recognized expertise is currently looking for an accounting technician to join the accounting department.
This person will need to understand bookkeeping and the complete accounting cycle to ensure a smooth flow through their various tasks, mainly related to the accounting of payables.
Main tasks:
-Prepare accounting entries related to payroll;
-Participate in the bi-weekly payroll check and group insurance bill;
-Perform data entry for supplier invoices, expense reports and credit card accounts;
-Settlement of accounts payable and employee reimbursements;
-Respond to various requests from lawyers in connection with the payment of suppliers;
-Contribute to the month-end process;
-Analyze general ledger accounts;
-Filing GST/QST returns or other government reports on a monthly basis;
-Perform various tasks in support of the finance manager arising from financial analysis requests;
-Perform accounting entries and adjustment entries;
-Perform backup tasks during absences or vacations (accounts receivable, reception support, etc.);
-Provide ad hoc support to the accounting team for various reports and support the finance manager during audits;
-Participate in the preparation of the annual budget;
-Ensure a rigorous and clear classification of paper and digital documents;
-Other related tasks.
Qualifications and Experience:
-DEC or AEC in accounting or administration;
-Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a similar position;
-Very good knowledge of the MS Office suite, Master (major asset) and Employer D (major asset);
-Be proficient in spoken and written French;
-Fluency in spoken and written English at the intermediate level to ensure good communication with clients;
-Have good priority management and respect for deadlines;
-Resourcefulness, versatility, rigor, confidentiality and discretion;
-Good team player, attention to detail, speed of execution, ability to work under pressure.
